Dr. Patrick Mwamba MD is a licensed physician with extensive training in medicine and in hair transplant surgery. He completed his medical degree at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium in 1998.  Dr. Mwamba initially participated in a fellowship in general surgery, where he developed fine hand-dexterity skills, becoming an expert in wound management and closure techniques. In 2000, he began intensively training and perfecting his technique of hair restoration alongside world renowned physician Dr. John P. Cole at the New Hair Institute in Atlanta, USA. In 2002, Dr. Mwamba was one of the first surgeons to start performing the minimally invasive Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) or Follicular Isolation Technique (FIT) hair transplant surgery, FUE meaning no shaving of the patient’s recipient site or donor area.
